National Capacity-Building Training on Curriculum Development and Innovative Teaching and Learning Methods held in Ulaanbaatar

As part of the "Reforming teacher education towards green and digital transition in Mongolia” project " a capacity-building training on Curriculum Development and Innovative Teaching and Learning Methodologieswas held in Ulaanbaatar from June 2–6. Four members of the project team from the Eastern Regional School are participating in the training in person, and three members are participating online.

Project team member and Head of the Research, Innovation and Cooperation Office, R. Jargaltuya, provided a comprehensive overview of the revisions to the Master of Education programme. Project team member and Head of the Academic Affairs Office, N. Bayarmaa, presented the reform initiatives being implemented in the Teacher Education and Primary Education programmes.

As a result of the training, participants learned  the knowledge and skills necessary to:

  • Revise teacher education programmes in alignment with the Teacher Green and Digital Competence Framework by applying the principles of competency-based curriculum design;
  • Integrate the GreenComp and DigComp frameworks into programme learning outcomes and course structures;
  • Design student-centered, digitally supported, and sustainability-oriented teaching and learning activities;
  • Develop competency-based assessment methods and quality assurance indicators for monitoring revised programmes; and
  • Strengthen the practicum and mentorship components of renewed teacher education programmes.
