The Eastern Regional School of the National University of Mongolia is implementing the “Reforming Teacher Education towards Green and Digital Transition in Mongolia” (RETEACH) project. This project aims to collaborate with national and European universities, as well as governmental and non-governmental organizations, to define new trends in teacher education in Mongolia, develop and adopt a teacher education model based on green and digital competencies, and gradually update and implement teacher training curricula.
Within the framework of the project, team members participated in capacity-building training in Palermo, Italy. As part of the effort to define new directions for teacher education in Mongolia, design a competency-based model grounded in green and digital skills, and elevate national-level policy documents to a new stage, they are jointly working on two key documents: the “Teacher Edcuation Concept in Mongolia for 2027-2032” and the “Framework Teacher’s Green and Digital Competencies”.
As part of the project, the fourth work package—focused on piloting and implementing updated curricula—is led by the Mongolian National University of Education. In this context, Dr. D. Uuriintuya, Head of the Lifelong Education Department at the School of Educational Studies of the university and leader of the project team, visited the Eastern Regional School of the National University of Mongolia on April 6, 2026. She provided a presentation and consultancy to the project team members on key considerations for updating their curricula in accordance with the “Framework Teacher’s Green and Digital Competencies”.
